Hatfield Holiday Luminarium set for Saturday

HATFIELD — Hatfield’s Holiday Luminarium, with luminarium candles lit throughout the community, and musical performances, a visit from Santa Claus and a fireworks display downtown, is being held Saturday evening.

In its 43rd year, the luminarium candles are expected to be lit up by 5:30 p.m.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with the First Congregational Church Luminarium Concert, followed by a chime and hand bell petting zoo for families.

From 5 to 6 p.m., the Hatfield Library will have a free children’s book giveaway and holiday crafts and refreshments.

The holiday program, at 6 p.m. at the Hatfield Town Hall, featuring greetings, caroling with the Smith Academy Band and the arrival of Santa Claus, who will meet families at the Hatfield Fire Station at 6:30 p.m.

The evening concludes around 6:45 p.m. with a fireworks display launched from the Hatfield Lions Club Pavilion.

For safety reasons, all moving vehicles traveling around town to view the luminarium candles must keep their headlights on at all times.
