Gazette unveils new masthead

On Monday, we debuted the new masthead of the Daily Hampshire Gazette.

The masthead change was developed for several reasons. First, and very basically, we moved in December and needed a sign for our new home at 23 Service Center Road in Northampton.

Second, we needed to create a space in the masthead to print the address on the copies of the Gazette that are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. This space needs to be in the upper right corner of the front page, meaning a horizontal design for the masthead would no longer work.

Finally, it has been years since the Gazette has had a common, unifying brand and identity across all print and digital platforms of our product, including social media.

The Gazette’s masthead has changed many times over the years and the latest redesign is a nod to the historical past of the Gazette when the color red was associated with the paper’s identity.

We hope you like the latest rendition as much as we do. Thank you for your continued support of the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
