SOUTH HADLEY — The body of Brianna Cuoco, the 18-year-old missing since Jan. 18, was found in the Connecticut River in Agawam on Thursday.
She was a student at Chicopee Comprehensive High School.
Since she was last seen in the area of Bridge Street in South Hadley, law enforcement officials continued to comb the river during the winter months.
The Hampden County District Attorney’s office said in a press release the cause and manner of death is still under investigation.
“This is an open and active case and no further information is available at this time,” the release stated. “District Attorney Anthony Gulluni expresses his sympathies to the family and friends of Brianna.”
