A three-goal first-quarter deficit didn’t faze the Granby boys lacrosse team against Chicopee on Wednesday.
The Rams mounted a comeback to win 6-4 in Chicopee.
Nick Roberts and Drew Wiesel each tallied two goals and an assist.
Roberts put the Rams up 5-4 with 1 minute, 30 seconds remaining in the game and sealed the victory with 16 seconds left.
Jack Sarnacki and Noah Bristol also scored, while Nick Albers picked up an assist for Granby (4-7, 3-4 Suburban).
Albers also made 22 saves in the Rams’ net.
Tantasqua 8, South Hadley 7 — Pat Crotty and Griffin Fitzell each scored two goals in a tight home loss.
Jason Fernandes added two assists for South Hadley (5-8).
Marcus Larrier, Stephen Stratton and Shane Smith each had one goal in defeat.
Hopkins Academy 1, Greenfield 0 — Mike Curran hit a two-out single in the second to score Jon Morrison with the Golden Hawks’ lone run in a home win.
Morrison led off the inning with a single and was bunted to second before reaching third on a wild pitch.
His brother, Brett Morrison, picked up the win after striking out three in five innings of work for Hopkins (7-5, 2-3 Hampshire West).
Trevor Fil earned the save.
South Hadley 12, Turners Falls 9 (8) — Teddy Doyle had two hits and two RBIs for the Tigers in an extra-inning road win.
South Hadley (13-1, 5-0 Hampshire West) scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning after allowing Turners Falls to tie the game with four in the bottom of the seventh.
Seven Tigers drove in runs.
Easthampton 5, Athol 3 — Hunter Leveille drove in a run and picked up the win at home.
He went 3 for 4 with a double and scored a run for Easthampton (5-7, 2-3 Hampshire East).
Frontier 1, Belchertown 0 — Nolan Muzyka singled home Noah Barnes in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Red Hawks (11-2, 3-2 Hampshire West) the home win over the Orioles.
Barnes also took the win on the mound, pitching to contact and letting his defense work. He had two strikeouts and gave up four hits.
Jack Kamins gave up only two hits and struck out seven in six innings for the Orioles.
Kamins and Victor Camerota singled for Belchertown (8-4, 3-2 Hampshire West).
Granby 5, Ware 4 — A four-run third inning helped the Rams get past the Indians on the road.
Mike Sosa and Ben Rokowski had RBI hits in the inning for Granby (11-2).
Noah Bleakley settled down after a four-hit first inning for Granby and picked up the win. He finished with five strikeouts and gave up eight hits.
Smith Academy 16, Pioneer Valley 4 — John Ferrara went 3 for 5 with a double, triple and three RBIs in a home win.
Kevin Banas hit two doubles and a triple to drive in three runs for the Falcons (3-10, 3-2 Hampshire East).
Jack Hession led the team with four hits, while Ben Bruscoe added two his and two RBIs in addition to picking up the win on the mound.
Granby 14, Putnam 0 — Brie Heath and Kate Sullivan each hit homers and had two RBIs for the Rams (8-6) in a road win.
Julia Gauvin went 2 for 5 with a triple and two RBIs, while Abby Beaugregard struck out 11 to pick up the win.
Pioneer Valley 12, Hopkins Academy 0 — Kelsea Cristoforo, Caroline Judge and Ella O’Brien had hits for the Golden Hawks (1-10, 1-6 Franklin).
Turners Falls 14, Frontier Regional 0 — A day after being no-hit by Greenfield, the Red Hawks couldn’t muster a hit vs. the Indians.
Frontier (7-6, 6-3 Franklin) struck out 12 times against MacKenzie Phillips.
Northampton 4, Westfield 2 — Marissa Badorini’s sixth-inning three-run home run to left-center provided the difference as the Blue Devils edged the Bombers on the road.
Anna Kerwood struck out six, hit a batter and scattered six hits to earn the win.
Zoe Driscoll-Sbar had two doubles, a single and an RBI.
Easthampton 12, Ware 0 (5) — Stephanie Therrien struck out four in a two-hit shutout at home.
Sierra Kaevitz drove in two runs to lead six Easthampton (8-5) players with RBIs.
Eight Eagles had hits.
Ludlow 11, South Hadley 5 (13) — Abby Edge had four hits for the Tigers, but the Lions pulled away in extra innings on the road.
Lexi Bogalhas had three hits and two RBIs for South Hadley (3-10, 0-3 Suburban).
Nicole Niemiec pitched all 13 innings for South Hadley, striking out four and giving up seven earned runs.
Chicopee 3, Amherst Regional 2 — Aliya Bartmon had another 17 strikeouts for the Hurricanes in a home loss.
Bartmon added a hit and a run scored for Amherst (1-13).
Egeria Koehn-Cooper added a hit and an RBI in defeat.
Sabis 12, Smith Academy 0 — Ashley Higgins and Madison Zigmont each had one hit for the Falcons (1-13, 1-7 Bi-County West).
Minnechaug 14, Belchertown 2 (6) — Hannah Sugrue had a single, an RBI and scored a run as the Orioles took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before the Falcons ran away.
Alexis Lajeunesse added two hits for the Orioles (2-11) in the mercy-rule shortened game.
Northampton 14, Amherst JV A 10 — Julia Snodgrass scored seven times and threw four assists in a road win.
Nellie Sanders led the Blue Devils with four defensive stops.
