HOLYOKE — Firefighters quickly knocked down a two-car garage fire on Fenton Street Tuesday.

According to Holyoke Fire Capt. Kevin Cavagnac, firefighters responded to 24 Fenton St. around 11:50 a.m. for a garage fire. Two occupants of the garage’s single-family home were able to evacuate without injury, Cavagnac said.

There was radiant heat damage to the siding of the home, and a car inside the garage was completely destroyed, Cavagnac said, adding that other houses were not damaged.

Cavagnac said it took around 30 minutes for the fire to be knocked down. The state fire marshal’s office is assisting a Holyoke fire investigator in determining the cause of the blaze, he said.
