NORTHAMPTON — The six new pickleball courts at Ray Ellerbrook Field, 48 Burts Pit Road, are already a draw for people testing out the sport or for the more experienced.
“It’s fantastic,” Konstantin Vatrenko said about the new courts while playing last Saturday with his son. “It’s a nice bonding activity with my son.”
A court schedule, rules and regulations are available on the city of Northampton website. The Parks and Recreation Department will be offering classes and other events throughout the year.
Friends of Northampton Pickleball have been a large supporter and have fundraised for a portion of the courts. They continue to fundraise for amenities, and also offer a variety of opportunities to play.
