AMHERST — A women’s soccer match between the University of Massachusetts and Northern Illinois University, scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Rudd Field, was canceled for reasons officials decline to specify.
UMass spokeswoman Emily Gest confirmed that police are looking into reports of an incident at the site.
“The University of Massachusetts Police Department is investigating reports of an isolated incident at Rudd Field on Sunday, September 28,” Gest wrote. “There are no injuries or threats to campus.”
A post on the X account for the women’s soccer team stated “Our game vs. NIU will not be played today and has been postponed until further notice.”
