In its final road game of the regular season, the Smith Academy girls soccer team upended Athol, 3-1, at O’Brien Field.

Anna Scagel, Emily Pearl and Nina Place netted goals for the Falcons, while Grace Gauthier got the Bears’ single strike.

The goalies saw plenty of action as Smith’s Jalianny Marcano made six stops, while Athol’s Addy Proctor and Ava Adams split time between the posts. Proctor had eight saves and Adams added 10 more.

The Falcons bumped their record up to 6-5-2, however the Bears fell to 2-10-2.

Athol’s last win came in its first meeting against Smith, a 5-0 victory, on Sept. 16.

Granby 3, Monson 2 — The Rams netted all three goals in the first half to claim win No. 8 on the season.

Marcela Tapia, Bri-Anne Kraus and McKenna Cudworth found the back of the net for Granby. Kalli White had two assists as well.

Rams goalie Meredith Bartosz registered seven saves.

South Hadley 3, Agawam 2 — The Tigers picked up their first win in three games after taking down the Brownies.

Kelcey Zraunig, Allison Fleury and Hannah Haesaert all found twine for South Hadley.

Tigers keeper Olivia Athas was active, finishing with 18 saves.

Smith Voc 3, Ware 0 — A trio of Vikings had multiple points in their 10th win of the season.

Isabella Letourneau (two goals), Monique Fredette (two assists) and Erin Miller (goal, assist) energized the Smith Voc offense.

Julianis Suarez’s shutout for the Vikings included three saves.

Chicopee 5, Holyoke 0 — The Pacers pelted the Purple Knights in a Pioneer North league matchup.

The loss sunk Holyoke to 3-8-3.

Boys soccer

Chicopee 2, South Hadley 0 — For the third time in their last four games, the Tigers were held scoreless.

Goalie Noah Carillon turned aside 13 Pacers shots in the defeat.

Minnechaug 4, Amherst 1 — The Hurricanes continue to struggle as their winless streak moves to nine straight following the loss to the Falcons.

Noe Arboleda-Rulf scored for Amherst and Tobin Kaplan grabbed five saves in goal for the ‘Canes.

Easthampton 1, Lenox 1 — Thursday’s bout between the Eagles and Millionaires ended in a draw.

Easthampton is 1-3-1 in its last five games.

Northampton 3, Agawam 0 — Thursday’s Churchill league affair went to the Blue Devils as Sam Busone’s three points was the difference.

Busone scored and recorded two assists for Northampton. Jasper Cantor and Armany Rodrigues struck for the Blue Devils too.

Northampton bettered its record to 11-0-2.

Hoosac 3, PVCICS 0 — The Dragons’ losing streak stretched to nine after being held off the board on Thursday.

 Grace Rachele made two saves in goal for PVCICS.

Field hockey

Belchertown 8, Holyoke 0 — The Orioles soared back into the win column, shutting out the Purple Knights on their home turf.

The Belchertown goals were attributed to Lila Roy, Edith Audette, Kina Roy, Kian Roy, Mya Philpott and Jocelyn McMahon.

The Orioles record improved to 11-2-1.

Frontier 1, Minnechaug 1 — Macy DeMaio mustered the Red Hawks lone goal in the tie with the Falcons.

Frontier keeper Brooke Charest concluded with six saves.

Volleyball

Belchertown 3, Putnam 0 — A shutout gave the Orioles their second straight win, their first time winning consecutive matches all season.

Layla Liminski laced 16 kills, plus compiled eight aces, two blocks and four digs for Belchertown.

Olivia Skora (32 assists), Kaiya Cavanaugh (19 digs) and Alexa Raymer (10 digs) also played well for the Orioles.

Set scores finished at 26-24, 25-19 and 25-16 in favor of Belchertown.

Amherst 3, Westfield 1 — Twenty-four combined kills from Alyciana Hackett and Kiko Bhowmik pushed the Hurricanes past the Bombers.

Olivia Nolan nabbed 21 assists and Ava Carey chipped in 13 digs to aide Amherst to the victory.

Cross Country

Gateway 15, St. Mary’s 50 (boys) — Jacob Maynard’s first-place finish led the Gators to the dual-meet victory.

Maynard crossed the finish line in 19:42. Steven Savoy (21:35), Adam Forgue (23:02) and Jeffrey Antonellis (23:45) followed in behind Maynard for Gateway.
