LEVERETT — U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern will be holding a discussion with Leverett residents and other constituents at the Leverett Elementary School, 85 Montague Road, on Friday, Oct. 17.

“A Conversation with Congressman Jim McGovern,” running from 6:30 to 8 p.m., is the title of the event sponsored by Leverett Together.

Leverett Together, a group of residents who are building community with informational and fun programs and shared meals, was formed after the 2024 presidential election.

In June, the organization sponsored “Supporting Immigrants in a Time of Uncertainty,” an evening program where six immigrant advocacy groups detailed their missions and services.

During his talk, McGovern is expected to outline priorities and concerns for the town, Massachusetts and the United States, with a focus on ending hunger, protecting human rights and promoting peace.

Time will also be set aside for a question-and-answer session.

Those interested in attending the free event should register online through Eventbrite at: https://tinyurl.com/convowithjim10-17-25.
