Florence, MA – Kathleen Edna (Steidler) Parent, 91, of Florence, entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2025 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Northampton on June 24, 1934 to the late John and Christine (Suprenant) Steidler.
She was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish of Northampton. She earned the Pope Pius X award for her service in teaching CCD at the former Annunciation Parish in Florence. She graduated from the former Saint Michael’s High School in Northampton in 1952. She worked for many years in the Northampton Public School cafeterias and the Miss Florence Diner.
Kathleen was predeceased by her sons William and David, her sister Nancy Stein, and nephew Eric Stein. She is survived by her brother John Steidler from Northampton; her sons John from Florida, Joseph and wife Sandra from Florida, James and wife Ruth from Southampton, Thomas and wife Brenda from Worthington, Timothy and wife Patricia from Easthampton; and her daughters Kristina McCarthy and husband Steven from Chicopee, and Anne Fountain from Chicopee. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her nephews Paul Stein and wife Stephanie from Mississippi, James Stein and wife Debbie from Arkansas.
Czelusniak Funeral Home on North Street in Northampton will be in charge of arrangements. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 26th, from 8:30 to 10:30am with an 11:00am mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish on King Street. Burial immediately following at Saint Mary’s Cemetery on Bridge Road.
