Easthampton, MA – Nora E. Zimmerman, 69 of Easthampton, passed away peacefully with family at her side on November 18, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA after a long illness and recent surgeries.
Nora was born in Springfield on October 1st, 1956, to Joseph Gerald Zimmerman and Marian Anne (Connell) Zimmerman. Nora was educated in the Springfield school system and was a graduate of the former Notre Dame High School.
She is survived by her partner and best friend Steve Gilmore of Easthampton and by her sister, MaryAnn Hogan, of West Springfield, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. Nora was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Joseph G. Zimmerman Jr, of Springfield and Daniel P. Zimmerman of Meriden CT.
Nora was the office manager for Amherst Pediatrics and was very close to her boss Emlen H. Jones and his wife Bernadette.
Nora was one of the gentlest, sensitive, caring people one could ever hope to know. She had many friends who loved and supported her. She was also loved by those involved in her care, including hospital and nursing home staff and the wonderful folks at Walgreens pharmacy in Southampton.
She enjoyed traveling the Southwest, especially 4-wheeling in Death Valley, and petting her former cat Punkin, who loved to curl up and purr in her lap.
Nora was truly a gift to this earth!
Services will be private. The GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES , 18 Adams Street in Easthampton, has honorably been entrusted with Nora’s services. Donations can be made in memory of Nora to the Dakin Humane Society Animal Shelter in Springfield, MA.
