Money for schools, not frivolous lawsuits
It is hard to believe that my City Councilor, Quaverly Rothenberg, from Ward 3 in Northampton would seem to be frivolously suing the city as reported in this newspaper.
This is forcing our city to spend our tax money on legal costs, money that we need for schools, sidewalks, roads and much more. Her divisive behavior, antics and disrespect at City Hall are needlessly costing us all additional money and fraying the bonds of our community. Clearly, Rothenberg has been more concerned with herself than she has been with the schools, sidewalks and roads, issues that she has used to run for office and professed to fight so hard for.
It all seems so hypocritical, and as a Ward 3 voter, I feel manipulated and betrayed. We want solutions for our schools, not warfare among our citizens.
Thankfully, my neighbors in Ward 3 wisely voted Rothenberg out in a landslide in November. Now, we have an incoming City Councilor, Laurie Loisel, who knows our city, is a problem solver and uniter, and a true advocate for our community. Letโs hope we can begin to repair the damage to our wonderful community and listen to one another respectfully and solve problems at a time when money is short and costs are rising.
