Amherst College will get a double-dose of Elite Eight action in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Jayde Dawson had 19 points as the men’s basketball team beat Babson, 88-76, in the Sweet 16 Friday in Medford.
Amherst will face host Tufts at 7 p.m. Saturday for the right to advance to the Final Four. Tufts beat Johnson & Wales 101-85.
Amherst split with Tufts during the season. AC lost 84-73 on the road, yet won 86-83 in the NESCAC Tournament semifinal round at Trinity.
The Amherst College women’s team advanced to the Elite Eight with a 82-48 win over Stevens Institute, Friday in Amherst. AC hosts Rochester at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Four players joined Dawson in double figures.
Johnny McCarthy had 15 points along with nine rebounds, while Michael Riopel came off the bench to score 14.
David George added 13 points, while Jeff Racy had 12 points.
Babson (23-6) led 39-37 at halftime, but Amherst (25-5) pulled away in the second half.

Erin Stacevicz finished 2 for 3 with a walk and run scored for UMass (5-9).
Minnesota 12, UMass 0 (5) — Ashton Wince collected the lone hit for the Minutewomen (5-10), who were shut down in Game 2 of their doubleheader in Bacon Raton.
