Presidential blues story inappropriate

Kudos to the two women running to beat the blues (“Running to beat the presidential blues,” Nov. 23, 2018). Exercise is a good antidote to the blues, and I think for me that walking and swimming are the best.

I have to “agree to disagree” that beating the presidential blues is an appropriate front-page story the day after Thanksgiving (or any day). There are many of us in the Valley with different opinions than these two women. There are some young adults who read the paper. This is not an appropriate article for any of us.

I respect whoever is the president. At this time of year, I plan to connect with those who share my opinions politically and those who do not. It doesn’t matter because this is the United States of America. Treating our neighbor as we want to be treated is what this season is all about. That means we need to listen and learn and, when frustrated, exercise to beat the blues; any blues.
