NORTHAMPTON — Winter parking bans are in effect in some communities in advance of a predicted snowstorm that will bring 2 to 5 inches of snow to the Pioneer Valley late Sunday evening through Monday afternoon.

In Northampton, parking is prohibited on all city streets and city parking lots Monday from midnight to 6 a.m., except on Main Street where parking is prohibited between 2 and 7 a.m. The Armory Street parking lot is open for use during snow emergencies, except from 8 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The winter snow emergency remains in effect until the city’s Department of Public Works calls it off.

Amherst’s parking ban will run from 11:59 p.m. Sunday through 7 a.m. Monday. During this time, parking is prohibited on all town streets and in all parking lots, except the lower level of the Boltwood parking garage, the town portion of the Pray Street parking lot and the northern row of the North Pleasant Street parking lot.

Granby is prohibiting on-street parking from 8 p.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday, according to a media release from Police Lt. Kevin O’Grady.
