EASTHAMPTON — Teens and children growing up today are exposed to various games and social media platforms through smartphones, tablets and computers.

On Tuesday, a documentary screened at the city’s high school looked into the impact of screen technology on the youth.

“SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age” will screen from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Easthampton High School, 70 Williston Ave. The event is hosted by the Easthampton Healthy Youth Coalition and Easthampton Public Schools. The screening is open to the public, and children 10 and older are welcome to attend.

Kids spend on average of 6½ hours a day on screens, and that doesn’t include classroom or homework screen time, according to the film.

The film highlights stories such as a 14-year-old victim of social media bullying and a college student who lands in an internet rehab center, according to the film’s press release.

Following the film, there will be a short discussion and opportunity for questions.
