SUNDERLAND — A 16-year-old boy from the Netherlands died as a result of injuries suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident in town last week.
In the area of Bull Hill Road on Aug. 13, the teen was involved in an accident in which the ATV he was riding rolled over onto him, Steven Gagne of the Northwestern district attorney’s office said in an email Monday. The teen, who was not named, died later that same day, Gagne said.
According to information from the DA’s office, the teen was an exchange student.
The incident is being investigated by the Sunderland Police Department, the Environmental Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit attached to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.
