The Abundance Farm at Congregation B’nai Israel on Prospect Street, Northampton held weekly gatherings on Friday mornings this summer for children under 6 and their grownups. Children were allowed to explore the farm, pick flowers to take home for shabbat, eat homemade challah, and stay and play on the playground.

At the last gathering in August, Rabbi Justin David, right, prepares to send around a platter of challah as Felicia Sloin leads the group in song. Below left, Lisa Hernandez, and her daughter, Lara, take part, as do Ryan Ambuter of Amherst, below right, and daughter, Quinn, 3½ months.
