Your editorial regarding land preservation in Southampton (April 4) omitted one extremely important fact.
The potential buyer/developer of the Glendale Road parcel, David Garstka, in addition to creating affordable housing on the site, has offered to donate to the town more than half of the acreage for continued preservation.
A member of the Conservation Committee remarked at that same meeting, how she would be delighted to accept that concept and save the town hundreds of thousands of dollars in a land purchase — a satisfactory compromise for both parties.
