As a 20-year resident of Strong Street, I’ve seen a definite increase in speeding cars. Occasionally a police cruiser will sit in the driveway of Wildwood cemetery, which serves as a temporary deterrent.

The Police Department itself has told me that speed bumps are impractical for such a busy thoroughfare. A mobile speed-limit sign, when used, tends to slow some drivers down.

I live close to the top of the hill, across from the cemetery, and when exiting my driveway I tell visitors they have about three seconds to make sure it’s safe because you can’t see cars coming up the other side.

It’s risky for many of us living on this street. What to do?
