Walter Tebbetts placed 28th to lead the Amherst Regional boys nordic ski team to an 11th-place finish at the state freestyle championship.
Amherst finished with 193 points, Tuesday at Notchview Reservation in Windsor.
Concord Carlisle was first among 17 teams with 18 points. Mount Greylock was second with 50.
The Hurricanes were the top team from the Pioneer Valley. Mohawk finished 15th.
Tebbetts finished the 7ยฝ-kilometer two-lap course in 30 minutes, 41 seconds.
Nor Young was 46th in 31:59, while Jesse Barker Plotkin just missed the top 50 by eight seconds. Barker Plotkin was 51st in 32:29. Henry Geffert (68th, 34:30) added to the teamโs final score.
Leif Corp (80th, 36:24) and Geir Hartl (88th, 38:46) also competed for the Hurricanes.
The Amherst girls team finished 15th out of 16 teams with 285 points. Concord Carlisle and Mount Greylock tied for the championship with 50 points.
Lenox was third with 53 points.
Stella Wenczel was 33rd in 38:05 to pace the Hurricanes.
Anna Burns was 77th in 45:53 for Amherst, while teammates Janna Murphy (87th, 48:18) and Zada Forde (88th, 49:17) contributed to the team score.
Becky Marshall (90th, 50:13) and Willa Hirtl (93rd, 54:07) also competed.
