Maya Kerstetter scored a career high as the Clark women’s basketball team raced past Mount Hoyoke, 75-37, Wednesday in South Hadley.
The Northampton native had 17 points along with six rebounds, five steals and two steals for the Cougars (9-12, 5-7 NEWMAC).
Annika Brooks had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Lyons (1-19, 0-11).
VCU 52, UMass 48 — The Rams (15-6, 7-1 Atlantic 10) pulled ahead early in the third quarter and maintained a multi-possession lead through the second half en route to the win in Richmond, Virginia.
Hailey Leidel had 16 points on four 3-pointers along with eight rebounds, while Destiney Philoxy added 11 points for the Minutewomen (11-10, 3-4).
Smith 50, Springfield 42 — Kennedy Guest-Pritchett accumulated 15 points and 16 rebounds in a road win. Lauren Bondi scored 16 points with four rebounds and three assists for the Pioneers (16-5, 9-3 NEWMAC), who tightened the gap on the Pride (13-7, 9-2) for second in the conference.
Coast Guard 79, Springfield 68 — Jake Ross (Northampton) had 35 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals, but it wasn’t enough as the Pride (7-13, 4-5 NEWMAC) fell at home.
Plymouth State 2, Amherst 1 — Katie Savage cut the deficit in half midway through the third period, but the Mammoths (9-8-2) fell on the road.
