The Hampshire Regional girls basketball team defeated Granby, 52-40, on Thursday night at Granby.

Maddie Pond scored 12 points, secured 10 rebounds and had eight steals as the Raiders raced past the Rams.

Hampshire (7-3) was able to work its way to the free throw line and made 16 foul shots, nearly matching the 17 field goals it made in the game. Maggie Rubeck added 10 points and six rebounds in the victory.

Nora Young had a double-double for Granby (4-5) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kaeleigh Croteau chipped in eight points for the Rams while Kristen Trembley secured eight rebounds to go along with five points.

Hopkins Academy 47, Turners Falls 25 — Thea Hanscom compiled 12 points, five rebounds, five steals, five assists and two blocks in a road win.

Gabby Palmisano scored 10, and Hailey Boisvert added eight points for the Golden Hawks (7-3).

Gabby Dyjach had six points and nine rebounds.

Easthampton 48, Pioneer Valley 44 —Lauren Morse hit two free throws late to secure the victory for the Eagles.

Emma Downer scored 20 points to pace Easthampton (6-4) and Maria Belfakih chipped in nine points. Morse finished with eight points in the victory.

Belchertown 47, Ludlow 37 — Gina Camerota made four 3s and scored a career-high 23 points in a home win. Jessa Troy added her own career-high 14 points for the Orioles. Avery Klingensmith grabbed 16 rebounds.

South Hadley 47, Agawam 31 — Paige Marjanski powered the Tigers to a home win with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Olivia Marion added nine points for South Hadley (3-8, 1-1 Suburban). Teagan Gawron hit two 3s and scored six.

Monson 48, Amherst Regional 43 — Petua Mukimba scored 12 points and Erin Klaes added 11 points as the Hurricanes (7-2) fell on the road while being outclassed on the glass.

Mahar 55, Smith Academy 29 — Emma Kelly scored 11 points with seven free throws in a road loss for the Falcons (4-6).

Boys basketball

Palmer 60, Hampshire Regional 56 — Justin Forest scored 27 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Raiders from falling in overtime on the road.

Hampshire Regional (5-3) was took a 14-point lead into halftime, but struggled to keep Palmer off the free-throw line in the second half and overtime. All 28 of the Panthers’ foul shots came in the final 21 minutes and they made 20 of them to complete the comeback.
