AMHERST — One person was taken to a hospital after a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle near the Mullins Center at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mullins Way and Massachusetts Avenue. Hadley Police Sgt. Kenneth Hartwright said Massachusetts Avenue was closed after first responders arrived.
Hadley Police helped direct traffic on nearby East Hadley Road, Hartwright said.
Hartwright did not have additional information about the victim. State Police and the UMass Police are investigating.
