■Sunday’s antique car parade attracted 17 shiny Detroit models of early vintage to the Cummington Fair which broke all records for attendance. Contestants in the Golden Wedding contest were chauffeured in the old cars with candidates for election marching behind.
■Internationally famous horsewoman Princess Elizabeth Wistuba, the only woman in the world to train horses in “Airs Above The Ground,” and the first woman since the Colonial year 1725 to train spotted horses in these difficult maneuvers, stars with the Royal Ranch Wild West Circus coming to Williamsburg on Friday. The circus is appearing under the sponsorship of the Republican State Committee.
■The Easthampton Charter Commission may require all town department heads to live in town. The residency requirement recommendation, which if adopted by the commission, would have to be approved by voters in April.
■In seeking a replacement for Kathleen Fallon, the departing city solicitor, Mayor Mary L. Ford will be restricted by a city rule to finding someone who lives in Northampton — or would move here. Mayor Ford said she has not considered whether she will try to change that requirement, which creates problems for some candidates.
