EASTHAMPTON — City Council at-large candidates Joseph McCoy and Owen Zaret raised the most money for their bid for public office, campaign finance reports show.

The reports were due to the city clerk’s office on Monday. They list contributions and expenditures throughout the campaign until Oct. 20.

McCoy raised $3,660, which included $1,500 he loaned to his own campaign. Donors who contributed $100 include Mayor Karen Cadieux’s committee, Big Y director Michael Messer and owner of the Keystone mill building James Witmer. McCoy spent $1,004 on door flyers and mail, and $898 out of pocket on campaign postcards, signs and envelopes.

Zaret, who raised $2,653, had the most donors with over 40 people, including a contribution from mayoral candidate Nicole LaChapelle. He spent $1,593 on his campaign, which includes $300 on hall rental at the Polish Pulaski Club and $626 on lawn signs.

Zaret’s report also cites a $1,000 in-kind contribution from a videographer in Belchertown who made four short videos for Zaret’s campaign. He also loaned his own campaign $803 for Facebook ads.

Precinct 3 candidate Thomas Peake raised $2,426, including $2,000 from his own pocket. He spent $1,234 on lawn signs, business cards, campaign postcards and graphic design work, and $41 on small expenses.

At-large candidate William Lynch IV raised $1,552 and spent $815 on lawn signs and buttons. At-large candidate Cinzia Pica-Smith raised $1,008 spent $955 on lawn signs and palm cards, and another $52 on small expenses.
