In my letter to the Gazette published March 7, I suggested that a woman be depicted on not only the recently decided $10 bill, but also the originally intended $20 bill.
However, in a moment of brain fog, I typed the wrong last name for my nominee for the second bill. It was Lydia Maria Child (1802-1888), who was the abolitionist and women’s and Native American rights activist. I believe she deserves this honor.
Meanwhile, there could soon be a movement to keep Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, as he is currently the most popular character on Broadway!
