NORTHAMPTON — Retail shops will be allowed to open for business on Columbus Day and Veterans Day, Police Chief Jody Kasper announced in a press release.
Kasper emphasized in the release that the decision was not made to diminish the importance of either holiday, but for “public convenience and safety factors” given the city is “a major destination location.”
According to the release, a blanket permit will be issued for retail sales on those days — Oct. 10 and Nov. 11.
