NORTHAMPTON — A 44-year-old man was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital around 11 p.m. Sunday after reportedly being assaulted by four men near the railroad bridge in downtown Northampton.
Police said the assault followed an altercation between the victim and alleged assailants that had occurred earlier in the night, near the Tunnel Bar. No weapons appear to have been used during the attack, during which the victim suffered a facial injury, Capt. John Cartledge said.
Police are investigating the incident and had few details to release Monday morning.
