Kiley Anderson, Stephanie Croke and Kaitlyn Cerasi scored consecutive goals late in the second half to break a tie, then the UMass women’s lacrosse team held on in the final minutes for a 14-13 victory over La Salle, Friday in Philadelphia.

The Minutewomen (12-3, 7-0 Atlantic 10) led 14-11 with three minutes left following the trio of goals.

Croke finished with five goals, while Anderson had four. Hannah Palau added a pair.

Baseball

Hamilton 18, Amherst 10 — Daniel Qin (two RBIs), Kai Terada-Herzer and Joseph Palmo (three RBIs) each had two hits, but the Mammoths (12-8, 3-4 NESCAC) fell on the road.

UMass 8, George Washington 0 — Justin Lasko struck out seven, walked one and allowed four hits in the complete-game shutout for the Minutemen (9-16, 4-6 Atlantic 10) at Lorden Field.

Logan Greene had three hits, while Nolan Kessinger (two RBIs), Anthony Videtto and Alex Norton (RBI) each had two.

Softball

Hamilton 6, Amherst 5 — Hamilton scored four in the seventh to snap a tie, but the Mammoths (16-5, 3-1 NESCAC) made it interesting with three in their half at home.

Sammy Salustri had four hits, while Andrea Sanders had two hits and two RBIs for Amherst.

Emerson 6, Smith 4 (8); Emerson 11, Smith 9 (6) — Wagner (four RBIs), Lee (three RBIs) and Pioggia (two RBIs) each had a combined four hits for the Pioneers (6-18, 1-10 NEWMAC) at home. Game 2 was suspended after six innings due to darkness.

Pioggia collected the 100th hit of her career in Game 1.

Women’s tennis

UMass 4, Stony Brook 0 — Ruth Crawford (third singles) and Anna Napadiy (fourth singles) closed the match as the Minutewomen (14-4) won their fourth in a row.
