SOUTHAMPTON — Police are warning residents about a string of recent car break-ins.
The town’s police posted on their Facebook page late Sunday, alerting the public to “numerous” calls reporting break-ins on Middle Road, Strong Road, Cheryl Lane, Moose Brook Road and Valley Road.
“All of the vehicles were unlocked at the times of entering,” the post reads. “Stolen from all vehicles were loose change and small items.”
Police reminded residents that such break-ins are an opportunity crime that can be prevented by locking car doors.
