NORTHAMPTON — A juvenile will be summoned to court for allegedly assaulting another youth with a knife Monday.
The incident began sometime in the afternoon in front of the post office on Bridge Street in Northampton, Police Capt. John Cartledge said. Police did not release information on the age or gender of either juvenile involved.
Two juveniles walking into downtown found a small folding knife and the two got into an argument over who would keep the knife. The argument continued when the two entered a nearby residence and the juvenile without the knife grabbed a large kitchen knife and hit the other on the arm three times without causing injury, Cartledge said.
The juvenile then blocked the exit, not allowing the other to leave.
The juvenile is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping.
