I have just about reached the point in my life where if I want to sit in a place I’m allowed to be, and I want to play bridge, I’m going to play bridge (“Seniors burned by bridge dispute,” Sept. 19).

No officious bureaucrat with a list of regulations about liaisons is going to make much of a difference to me, and I suggest that anyone who enjoys a game of cards should go right ahead and do so, whenever they want.

The senior center exists for seniors. Administrators and staff who enforce order with petty rules and regulations have no place there and should be rightfully ignored as not helpful. In my view, whenever things reach a point where the administration won’t talk to the administrated, the problem is not with those being administrated. So, play bridge!
