I’m someone fortunate who is retired and capable of spending some of my free time at Leeds Elementary School.
While my kids (and wife) went to Leeds School, I don’t think I paid enough attention as to how hard our public schools work in order to accommodate all of our children from so many backgrounds. In many ways, I took it for granted.
Times change and I have a front row seat to all the extra efforts, the care, and devotion that our Northampton teachers give to a wide variety of needs. Find the money and pay them what is deserved.
These are hard-working people who are at the forefront of creating good citizens and a stable community. It’s a shame that as the school year winds down, we have cheated the teachers, support staff and most importantly the kids of an upbeat send-off into summer.
