Authorities say a man has died after being struck by a garbage truck on Church Street in Ware on Thursday at about 9:30 a.m.
The man was working in his yard when he was struck by the garbage truck after the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.
The driver of the truck was taken to Mary Lane Hospital in Ware to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Names of the driver and of the man killed were not released by the district attorney’s office Thursday evening.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Ware Police and Massachusetts State Police.
