Jones Library garden is truly a gem

The other day I was meeting a colleague in Amherst, and we decided to do so in the David Chapin Kinsey Memorial Garden in the back of the Jones Library. It was a sunny morning, and the garden was not only beautiful, but also welcoming and peaceful.

In another part of the garden someone, apparently also drawn to the setting, was sitting and softly singing a beautiful piece of music, as if rehearsing for some performance. It was all a very memorable moment. Where else in Amherst could this happen? I hope those deciding the fate of the garden will also have an opportunity to personally experience the benefits of having such a beautiful and peaceful place.
