AMHERST – A paving project on East Pleasant Street will require all northbound traffic to use a detour on Wednesday.
Between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., vehicles traveling north from Amherst center will use a detour taking drivers from Triangle Street to Main Street, then North Whitney Street to Red Gate Lane, exiting onto Strong Street and then returning to East Pleasant.
Warner Brothers LLC of Sunderland will do the paving between the intersection of Strong Street and Clark Hill Road and Triangle Street.
Southbound traffic will be maintained on East Pleasant Street during this phase of construction, but drivers will face some delays.
Residents who live along the section being resurfaced are asked to head south when leaving their driveways.
