WHATELY — A woman and her dog were taken to area hospitals Friday afternoon after the woman’s car rolled over on I-91.
According to state police Sgt. John Ruyffelaert, a 29-year-old New Hampshire woman was driving southbound in a blue 1978 Chevrolet van when the accident occurred near the Whately-Deerfield line at around 4:30 p.m.
The woman was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and her dog was taken to Deerfield Animal Hospital.
State Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but the vehicle eventually came to rest upside down within the median. Ruyffelaert said the driver was complaining of neck and back pain following the incident.
