Like many admirers of the values and policies Bernie Sanders has been articulating, I joined a group recently to hear, directly from him, how we might move forward, and I was seriously disappointed.
I had hoped he would make practical suggestions to ensure that as much of the Democratic platform as possible becomes reality, as well as urging people to vote for Hillary Clinton – for the most obvious reasons. I had a hard time figuring out what his message was, and I missed the passion.
Sadly, I began to understand the reported disarray amongst his staff. When his speech concluded with the announcement and introduction of a leader of “Our Revolution,” someone whispered to me, “And who elected him?”
Later in the evening, I went to what I thought was the appropriate website to send the Sanders people a brief message. I could find no way to contact them, only requests for money. I am troubled.
