Dear Dr. Fleitman, Thank you for your June 4 column in the Gazette (“UMass conference prompts questions for Jewish community”). You raise a number of very good points and I hope that this column is widely read.
You are of course correct. The purpose of the conference was to undermine the relationship between Israel and the U.S. There were no pro-Israel voices as part of this conference. Only people on the panel with a known agenda against Israel.
My hope is that there are many others who agree with you, like me, but for whatever reason, do not speak out. However, it is critical for these types of columns to be written.
Once again, thank you for a very important column in the Gazette.
