The UMass baseball team walked off with a win after a John Jennings RBI single Tuesday in Amherst.
Jennings’ two-out, 3-2 hit gave UMass a 6-5 win over Central Connecticut in the 10th inning.
Mike Hart reached on a fielder’s choice and stole second base to put himself in scoring position for Jennings.
Brett Evangelista had three hits and scored a run for the Minutemen (7-13).
Starting pitcher Aubin Casey (no decision) pitched four innings, giving up four earned runs and striking out four hitters.
Amherst College 15, Connecticut College 9 — Kane Haffey had six goals for Amherst (10-2, 6-1 NESCAC), while Quinn Moroney dished out nine assists.
Evan Wolf added four goals and Cody Tranbarger made 11 saves for Amherst.
Amherst College 11, Connecticut College 5 – Kate Wyeth, Hanna Krueger and Rachel Passarelli each had three goals in Amherst’s road win.
Christy Forrest had five saves for Amherst (8-2, 5-2 NESCAC).
