Emma Kelly hit a free throw to tie the game with 14 seconds left and then hit another one to win the game with 6.7 seconds remaining as Smith Academy held off Athol, 34-33, on the road Thursday.

Kelly, who finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds, missed the second free throw with 6.7 seconds left and the ball trickled toward the Athol half of the court. Karlie Guimond dove in the air to knock the ball away from a charging Athol player to preserve the win for the Falcons (7-6).

Victoria Smiarowski added 13 rebounds in the victory for Smith Academy.

Easthampton 43, Southwick 34 — Tied entering the fourth quarter, the Eagles outscored the Rams 18-9 to snap a four-game losing streak with the victory at home.

Val Murphy had nine points and 13 rebounds to lead Easthampton (3-9). Rina Damon also scored nine points, while Sofia Massa (six points) and Hannah Coleman each had six rebounds.

Emma Downer chipped in with eight points.

Hopkins Academy 73, Ware 50 — Sam Jenks and Allison Kowal-Safron combined to outscore the Indians as the Golden Hawks (9-5) moved within a win of qualifying for the postseason.

Jenks finished with 32 points, while Kowal-Safron added 20 points. They each hit five 3-pointers. Jenks added six assists and five rebounds.

A.J. Mitchell had five points, six steals and three blocked shots.

Renaissance 41, Gateway Regional 29 — The Tri-County North-leading Phoenix (13-0) led 24-9 at halftime and never looked back as they defeated the Tri-County South-leading Gators (9-4) in Huntington.

Peyton Bucko had 10 points and Becca Herman nine for Gateway.

Hampshire Regional 68, Ludlow 28 — The Raiders’ pressure was too much for Ludlow in the first quarter as Hampshire (8-5, 1-1 Suburban) cruised to the easy win at home.

Maggie Rubeck scored 17 points to lead the way and Lila Labrie added 13 points. Maddie Pond had 11 steals and scored nine points in the win.

Frontier Regional 55, Turners 36 — Amelia Sobieski poured in 22 points and Olivia Deane added 15 as the pair outscored the Thunder in South Deerfield.

Frontier is 6-6.

Duggan 55, Smith Vocational 45— Duggan outscored the Vikings 23-5 in the third quarter to overcome a 19-17 deficit in Northampton. Haleigh Pensivy paced the Vikings (5-8) with 19 points.

Monson 45, Amherst Regional 34 — Delaney MacPhetres scored 14 points, but it was not enough as the Hurricanes (4-9, 2-1 Central) fell at home.

South Hadley 59, Agawam 33 — Bella Earle and Mia Kelly combined for 37 points as the Tigers routed the Brownies on the road.

Kelly scored 19 points and Earle had 18 to pace South Hadley (9-4, 3-0 Suburban).
