In the aftermath of the Orlando shootings it is not surprising the anti-gun rhetoric started before many Americans saw the news feeds.
The Second Amendment is for the protection of the people and a check against an abuse of government power.
Politicians and judges pledge to support and defend the Constitution and many do. but others fail miserably. They stigmatize those that obey the law.
Much of the problem is that we are a deeply divided country oblivious to what our chosen representatives and media are doing in our name. Divided by party, beliefs, sexual orientation, race and, yes, guns.
In San Bernardino a neighbor of the shooters didn’t call authorities for fear of being thought an Islamaphobe. Our leaders don’t seem to want to admit the threat of ISIS in America.
The “gun lobby” (NRA) is only a group of like-minded citizens making their voices heard, much like you, and created in 1871 to promote marksmanship and competition.
