The senior scored 33 points, including 26 in the first half, and grabbed 22 rebounds to lead the No. 3-seeded Raiders to a Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament quarterfinal win over No. 6 Sabis on Friday. – Continue story

South Hadley 55, Mount Greylock 39 — Last season, the South Hadley girls basketball team was on the wrong end of an upset in tournament play when Mount Greylock sent the then-top seeded Tigers home early. The Mounties visited the Tigers again in the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament quarterfinals Friday night. The No. 2 Tigers took care of business this team around, beating the No. 7 Mounties to advance. – Continue story

Hoosac Valley 54, Granby 27 — As the rest of Berkshire County can attest, the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team’s pressure defense is tough to solve no matter how many times you’ve seen it before. On Friday, the No. 1 Hurricanes faced No. 8 Granby for the second time this season and sixth time in the last four years. Again, the Rams could not solve the press, as the ’Canes pulled away in the second half for a win in the quarterfinals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament. – Continue story
