TAI CHI – For arthritis and fall prevention, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with instructor Arianne Pfoutz. Gentle, fluid movements boost health and mobility, creating relaxation, calm, and an increase in energy and clarity. Classes are $5 each payable to the instructor.

LEGAL HELP – Attorney Ed Smith will hold a legal clinic on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. He offers free 15-minute private sessions to answer questions about planning effectively for your own and your loved ones’ future and also offers help with MassHealth applications. Call to make your appointment.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH – Nancy Nickerson’s watercolor paintings will be on display at the center for the month of April.

HAIRCUTS BY KENDRA – and the senior class hair stylists are at Smith Vocational High School, Building A, Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Wash, cut, and blow dry for $5. Other salon services also available. Schedule an appointment at the senior center.

TAP CLASSES – Learn to tap. Many classes with various experience levels offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Come join the fun with Carol Butler Watelet. Call the center for more details or come and observe a class.  

PHYSICAL FITNESS – Various exercise groups and classes. Call for details about Zumba, walking, yoga, tai chi and Feldenkrais. Or join the fitness center and create your own workout. 

TRIPS — Coordinator Francine Frenier is available Monday afternoons from noon to 4 p.m. Call for more information.

We have a few seats available for the Boston Red Sox game on May 14.  The Northampton Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring the trip. $105 for Northampton residents. Leave a message for Francine at 587-1228 or sign up in person at the senior center on Monday afternoons.

KOI KITE DAYS –  Wednesday at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m., or Thursday at 10 a.m. Help make a koi fish kite for the River Roll & Stroll event on May 7. Kites will stay at the center to be flown as part of the street festival. Grandparents are encouraged to sign up with grandkids during this school vacation week. GRAND FRIENDS DAY – Thursday, 12:30 p.m. Area youth will be at the Senior Center to answer any questions about your technology. Bring your iPods, tablets, cell phones or laptops. Learn how to send pictures and texts, Skype. Sign-up required.
