I have heard all three candidates for Ward 7 on the Northampton City Council and I’m convinced Penny Geis is the best candidate.

Penny has the education, having attended the Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She has the experience, having been elected to the Saline County Kansas Board of Commissioners. She has worked with Stan Rosenberg to craft a municipal energy law, was the adminstrator for the Hampshire County Government and worked as a mediator.

But what really convinced me that she is the candidate Ward 7 needs is that she has been interested and working on ward issues large and small as an engaged citizen. She is active in pushing for the city to investigate a high-speed community internet service. She has pushed to address infrastructure issues from the hotel bridge and potholes, to ensuring crosswalks are marked and the rail trail is secured.

We need someone who will advocate for us on a full range of services from the large to the small. Penny is the candidate who best demonstrates the interest and drive to advocate for the citizens of Ward 7 on a day-to-day basis on the full range of our issues.
