WARE – A fire broke out in an abandoned shack in Ware early Wednesday morning, burning the structure to the ground.
The shack, which was on Webster Road about 50 feet in from the street, was unowned and had no address, according to police.
Ware Police and Fire Departments responded to the fire around 2:15 a.m. and spent about two and a half hours putting out the flames, according to a Ware police officer who would only identify himself as badge number nine. By that time, he said, there was “pretty much nothing left” of the shack.
The officer said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
