Taylor Shubrick’s 23 points helped visiting Longmeadow beat the Northampton girls basketball team, 50-43, on Monday at Feiker Gym.
Nearing 1,000 points for her career at Northampton, Lauraine Joensen scored 13 for the Blue Devils (12-4, 2-2 Valley League).
Northampton plays at West Springfield Thursday, where Joensen will need 20 points to reach the milestone.
Megan McCarthy added eight points for Northampton.
Ware 50, Smith Academy 30 — Emma Kelly scored eight points but the Falcons lost at home.
Olivia Cavanaugh and Hannah Rickert both added six points for Smith Academy (6-11).
Chicopee 66, Amherst Regional 42 — Petea Mukimba scored 19 points in the Hurricanes’ 14th straight loss.
Erin Klaes hit two 3-pointers and scored 10 points for Amherst (1-14, 0-4 Suburban).
Gateway Regional 29, Smith Vocational 24 — Becca Herman scored 11 points for the Gators (6-9) against the Vikings (7-10) in a road win.
Syndey Cyr led Smith Voke with 12 points.
Belchertown 50, Minnechaug 45 — Senior guard Kayla Henry had 33 points, grabbed six rebounds and added four steals for the Orioles (13-2).
She also hit several free throws late to put the game out of reach for Belchertown.
Monson 63, Easthampton 62 — The Eagles had a chance to win at the buzzer, but a 3-pointer along the right wing missed on the road against the Mustangs.
Zach Crisafulli led the Eagles (8-6, 7-3 Bi County North) with 23 points.
Easthampton’s five-game winning streak was snapped.
Amherst Regional 60, East Longmeadow 56 — The Hurricanes pulled away from the Spartans on the road.
Will Budington led Amherst with 16 points, including four 3-pointers.
Seth Bella-Hunter turned in another double-double for the Hurricanes with 11 points and 16 rebounds to go with three blocks.
Meikyle Murray (10 points), Tajahn Joyner (11 points) and Meikkel Murray (10 points) also were in double-figures for Amherst (13-3, 6-0 Valley Wheel).
