Willy Wright helped pave the way to a second-place finish for the Amherst Regional nordic ski team.

He was second Saturday at Race 4, a 6.5-kilometer freestyle race at Mohawk. Wright crossed the line in 25 minutes, 11 seconds.

Amherst also finished second with 55 points.

Luke Sedor Protti also reached the top-10 for the Hurricanes, taking seventh in 27:25.

Amherst’s girls team took sixth with 98 points.

Kendal Pittman was their top finisher in 20th, crossing the line at 34:26.
