Christopher Ali Rodriguez, 21, of 560 Riverglade Drive, Unit G, was arrested at 1:37 a.m. Friday at the Mount Pollux Conservation Area on charges of possession of a Class B drug (cocaine) and possession of a Class D drug (marijuana) and on a warrant issued by Eastern Hampshire District Court for being a fugitive from justice, police said. Rodriguez was found at the South Amherst conservation site during a routine security check by officers, who observed his vehicle and the odor of burned marijuana, police said.
An 18-year-old Hopedale man will be summoned to court on charges of disorderly conduct and being a minor in possession of alcohol after he was found standing on North Pleasant Street north of the UMass campus with his shorts around his ankles at 12:57 a.m. Friday and passing a bottle of vodka to other individuals, police said.
Police are investigating a break-in at Townehouse Apartments, 50 Meadow St., reported at 7:25 p.m. Thursday. The residence was entered through an unlocked door and two laptops and a cellphone charger were stolen, police said.
A homeless man who had been sleeping in the West Cemetery, 204 Triangle St., reported to police at 3:44 p.m. Thursday that when he awoke he discovered his cellphone and a package of cigarettes had been stolen from his pockets.
Jacob Ketchakeu, 24, of 340 Riverglade Drive, Unit C, was arrested at 11:51 p.m. Thursday at the Fine Arts Center on a warrant.
Oscar E. Zeledon-Gonzalez, 35, of Colonial Village, Unit 16, Amherst, was arrested at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday on Southwest Circle on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker.
